The midi opened today after a week's break so off I went for a blast down the Grands Envers.
No one else thought of doing the same thing, look at that only one set of tracks. |

I was going to go down this little couloir to the right (skiers) of the second pitch
but noticed that the rimaye at the bottom had opened a bit so skied around. |

On looking across I was glad that I hadn't gone down. That snow bridge didn't look like it
would take your weight. |

There was just acres and acres of untouched snow. |

Looking across at the Aiguille Verte, the Mer de Glace had taken on a bit of a Sahara look |

Looking back up the desert, La Noire over on the left, the Tour Rond middle back and the
exit couloirs to the Grands Envers over on the right |

Another look back up the glacier, not much snow left on it down here. |

There was even a river running down it. |
